CMHF Supporters Win National Competition

On January 31, 2013, the Show Choirs of Rockbridge High School, Columbia, MO conducted a concert featuring WWII era songs, the proceeds of which were donated to Central Missouri Honor Flight. Many WWII veterans who have traveled with us attended as the choirs’ guests.

Last week, Satin and Lace, the senior Rockbridge choir, traveled to Nashville, TN and competed in the National Show Choir Championship and brought home First Place!

Central Missouri Honor Flight congratulates these talented young Americans and thanks them, on behalf of our WWII and Korean War veterans, for their support.

POSTPONED: Fundraiser: HONOR FLIGHT: One Last Mission Movie Showing

Friends, the National Weather Service is predicting that we will be on the edge of a Winter Storm Weather Advisory by Monday evening, so we are POSTPONING the showing of Honor Flight: One Final Mission. Future date will be announced here soon. So many of our beloved veterans are planning to attend, and if the weather is questionable, they may not want to venture out. We would hate for them to miss this opportunity, and we would certainly not want them to attempt to attend if the weather is bad. We also do not want to risk the safety of the generous people who plan to attend, our volunteers and the helpful staff at The Crossing. So please help us spread the word that we have decided to postpone, and we will let everyone know of the new date just as soon as we have it confirmed. Everyone stay safe and stay in touch…we hope to see you all at the film in the near future.

Celebrate Our Nation’s Birthday with the Return of Honor Flight #19

Mid-Missouri families can experience a July 4 they will never forget by joining in the homecoming for Central Missouri Honor Flight’s 19th mission to Washington, DC.

The next Central Missouri Honor Flight departs Columbia on at 1 A.M. Tuesday, July 3. After a day-long celebration in the nation’s capital, more than 60 military heroes will return to the Columbia Courtyard Marriott Hotel at 12:50 A.M. on Wednesday, July 4.

Flight #19 leaves Columbia’s Courtyard Marriott at 1 AM on Tuesday, July 3. After a day-long trip to Washington, DC, to visit the memorials dedicated to their service, the Honor Flight rolls into the parking lot of the Courtyard Marriott at 12:50 AM on Wednesday, July 4!

Central Missouri Honor Flight, an all-volunteer organization that began in 2009, has safely flown 1,021 mid-Missouri veterans to see their war memorials in our nation’s capital. But time is running out to express our thanks to these brave men and women. Now is the time to say “thank you.”

The homecoming at the Courtyard Marriott has become a highlight for the Honor Flight veterans. Seeing members of the general public waiting to greet them in the middle of the night brings smiles to their faces and tears to their eyes. And, since July 4 is a holiday allowing families to sleep in that morning, what better time to be a part of history as our heroes enjoy the homecoming they should have received nearly 70 years ago!

The Courtyard Marriott is located at 3301 Lemone Industrial Drive, Columbia.
Start the celebration of our nation’s independence off right by attending the homecoming for Central Missouri Honor Flight’s 19th mission, and honor the heroes who sacrificed so much to preserve the freedoms we celebrate on July 4.
